Holkham Pines protected me from the east wind today and 6 hours & 19k steps later can say they were sheltering a good number of #birds too. Leaf warblers will get the headlines but Woodcock few feet away was fab. 66sp. Amongst 2000 Pink Feet I found 2 White Fronts and 2 Tundra Bean #norfolkbirding

From reports looks like notable arrival of leaf warblers in north Norfolk overnight. Many more Chiffchaff in Holkham area this morning. Long-eared Owl over the cattle field top end of Lady Anne’s Drive 09:20 was fun #norfolkbirding #ukbirding #birds

A lovely sunny day at Holkham once the fog had burnt off. Thousands of Harlequin Ladybirds in the walled garden, constantly flying around and swarming over the walls. Also quite a few Locust Blowflies about.
Holkham Hall, a stately home, reflected in a calm lake in front of it. A pale brick wall with abundant Harlequin ladybirds scattered over it. A Locust Blowfly with a stripy grey-and-black thorax in the centre of an orange daisy-like flower.

Holkham NNR: Several visits to the fantastic Holkham Pines, Grazing Marshes, Beach & Dunes + Wells Woods for a range of species too. Desert Wheatear, Arctic, Mealy & Lesser Redpolls, 2 very elusive Dusky Warblers, 3 Barn Owls hunting in the same field of view, 1000s of Pinkfeet, 2 Woodcocks in off.
