With portable power always ready to go, you’ll never be caught in the dark. I write a lot about large home battery backup solutions, but I also have a sweet spot for smaller, portable units. The full name of this one is a mouthful — the HomePower 1000 Plus v2 American Red Cross Edition . It’s easily portable for most, weighing in at just under 24lbs. It’s rated at 1,800W with 3,600W surge power and can be expanded with additional units to a total of 11kWh, which means massive power when working together. Easily usable with power tools, small appliances, and other emergency equipment. Emergency power at the ready The built-in emergency features are plentiful here, highlighted by Storm Alert — which can trigger automatic charging through the app when severe weather is on the way — as well as Reserve Lock, which lets you always have capacity available for those unexpected outages. The HomePower 1000 Plus v2 delivers an impressive balance of power and portability, making it a highly versatile power station for emergency home backup, camping, or off-grid living.
