The only reason I use reddit has been community related things like console homebrews, decomps/recomps and FPGA cores and literally every single one of those communities are now ruled by a majority of people who think being anti-AI is performative and shows a sign of being clueless about the tech

Any new mods for older games, static recompiles, homebrews, everything is just all Claude now. Where the fuck is the fun in that? You're supposed to enjoy making something yourself. You can show off Goldeneye SNES, but if you didn't make it yourself then I don't give a shit. It's meaningless to me.
I just don't care for any new homebrew stuff because it's immediately obvious it's pretty much Claude doing all the work now

One of my earliest homebrews for monsters, since i was a lazy gm, was that your AC determined the damage threshold for the round and pcs rolled to beat it.
Then they would pile damage on until it matched AC.
Once met, the monster took 1 damage (2 on a crit)
Pips = (health/ac) round up

Tempted to sell my N64 games for a Summercart 64 + leftover extra cash... I could use the extra money, plus I will still be able to play all my games, any other N64 game, and ROMhacks/homebrews all on my N64 and CRT TV like nothing changed.

It's literally hurting the community that they're taking part in. People have spent YEARS understanding how these consoles work and dedicating and their time and effort in making great and fun ports and homebrews.

Probably why multiple backgrounds in 5e basically let you stay at inns for free. Shame that and anemic item pools make money pointless without homebrews.

Mostly aesthetics like layout and editing. I know OSE homebrews some game concepts from 1e but not sure about OSRIC.
Btw, even support for clones is not universal as some people prefer B/X over OSE as a learning tool.

The criticism I get most often when I show players and DMs my homebrews is that they "don't match D&D's design philosophy", which told me nothing because I thought that was just "bigger number = good". 😂
