Just to clarify, whilst I do sometimes use #homeschooling 5 is essential to recognise that in the UK, homeschooling has a different meaning than in other countries. In the UK, homeschooling means school at home that's why we say home educate as we aren't doing school at home. #homeducation #EduSky

Celebrating 50 years of Education Otherwise! Did you know... In 1976, when ‘Saturday Night Fever’ led the fashion trend for shiny white suits and the Commodore PET was forging the way for the launch of the Commodore 64, a small group of pioneering home educators, sat around a table and formed ‘Education Otherwise’.

Education Otherwise is 50!! Here is a snippet from when we first began... "... 17th-18th September 1976 was the third effort made to get a national network started. The first two provided little tangible result. The main difficulty has been simply to find sufficient families actually doing it, instead of just thinking about it... The amount of times, I hear a parent is responsible & so is the government.

You can't have it both ways in decision making.

You can care & support Gov & we thank you.

Although, in saying that.

The amount of hoops you have to jump through when reading education laws, you can literally loose weight.

It's fun though!

Take one for the team!

Just keep jumping, just keep reading.

Experience in full-time home education, comes when the decision is made.

However, we partially are actually practicing it when they come home from school.

Homework etc.

Question?

Is it because we remove the authorative " qualified approach?"

& children learned how to walk by..

Upon reflection, from my last post. I am content with technology (choosing what to use it for), but in manual efforts, I receive personal achievement and the stimulus to learn more. One keeps the brain going seeking progression, & the other completes the task.. & then what?

A qualification can be revoked at any given time by:
a)Designation (secretary of state or a designated body)
b) an approval given by him;
c) an approval given by a designated body

I will always respect the skills of all works of manual labour.

It can never be taken!
Choose wisely!
