Do we know if it's US-bound yet? I know the current car is as small and light as possible while passing EU crash regs, and worldwide homologation would require a larger heavier car.

For now... Tesla benefits from the current annual tariff allotment in Canada given that Tesla already had the infrastructure and homologation in place in Canada - whereas all domestic Chinese automakers did not, BYD included.
I expect that not to be true in subsequent years in Canada.
