#HotDesk
should tech companies, all else being equal, supply every hotdesk with two monitors instead of one?

Trump is planning to sell 443 federal properties, including the headquarters of the FBI and Department of Justice, Reuters reports.

They can all hotdesk at Mar-a-Lago.

Today’s hotdesk neighbour smells of damp laundry that was left in the machine too long

First one in so I’ve changed the gamma setting on the monitors of the hotdesk next to me to make it really annoying for anyone who dares to sit there

We hotdesk but some colleagues have tried to lay claim to specific office chairs by putting name labels on the back. It's got daft, so every late shift I now take a spanner and make a clockwise quarter turn of a random bolt. Tonight the first bit fell off. I'm not done.

"average US worker attends 3 meetings a day" factoid actualy statistical error. Networkings Georg, who lives under hotdesk and uses AI to attend 10,000 simultaneous zoom calls, is an outlier adn should not have been counted
this has to be the least compelling pitch of all time

Had to take the day off. The only #WFH hotdesk was occupied!

There’s a hotdesk at the office nobody wants to use because the screens are shit and they have really bad ghosting and all the colours have a sort of halo.

That’s what iOS 26 looks like

who ordered the rgb gamer mouse for this work hotdesk

Weighted blankets are so 2020. Put my anxious ass in the deluxe rotating animal vice.

If you thought the hotdesk was a gamechanger, you're gonna love the headgate.

They’ve labeled a hotdesk with my name, a hotdesk!

I’m gonna be stuck here for awhile

the contrast between a hotdesk and a hotwife suggests that the hot- prefix covers a lot of ground

I've said it before & I'll say it again: designers of 2factor authentication should be required to hotdesk for work, and have to login at least twice a day. Bonus points if they work in a building w troubled WiFi & crappy cell reception.

I've still got a low level lurgy, I feel sufficiently shitty enough to not go into work on designated day so am WFH. Therefore please find my list of things you find in stupid open plan hotdesk offices:

1. Filthy Mouse. Not noticed for 30 mins but your fingers been stroking that and ewwww.

SoftBank is known for its amazing investment acumen in the tech sector, so I can only imagine this stuff will all pan out.

Walking into your office and sitting down at your hotdesk, gazing at the unfamiliar faces of people you’ve apparently worked with for years… with this in your ears 👇… that was weird 😂

My team's office space got turned into classrooms when we started wfh, and then we were told to go back to office 1 day a week and we were like ok, but where? They said hotdesk at nearest campus, but the whole point of being on site was for team work, which we can't do if we're scattered

Currently have a manager who is enforcing our hotdesk policy by setting down name tags each morning to assign us desks. There's no need for a hotdesking policy, and our work isn't helped by being shuffled around each day like cards

My hotdesk neighbour has been hammering her mouse button for 45 minutes non stop. She’s just explained that she logged into a system using her admin account for the first time in years so she’s got 3 x daily notifications going back to 2021 to clear before she can do anything else

Yes I am lugging books every week on the Thameslink because we now hotdesk with no storage for teaching materials.
So much for the compulsory H&S training on ergonomic working....

Lazy #TombTuesday contribution, a greeting card at my @archsoutheast.bsky.social hotdesk. It simply says 'Barrows, near Stonehenge' on the back. Can anyone identify the cemetery? Quite a marvellous alignment of Bell, Bank, Bowl and Double barrows. Bronze Age.

A group of right wing politicians are proposing right wing policy because they're right wing, I don't think it's a case of who they're sharing a hotdesk with.
I'm wondering if part of the issue here is drawing the inner circle from too small a clique. It is blindingly obvious to me that people with all sorts of flavours of broadly liberal-left politics are watching the government and screaming "what are you DOING"...
It is really difficult to understand what Labour's political strategy is. Steadily alienating core supporters in the hope of winning them back in a few years seems unwise.
