On Feb. 11, 2026, the Virginia Senate in Richmond debated and recorded final action on a broad set of bills covering firearm safe-storage rules, housing partnerships, parole access, public-health studies, tax enforcement measures, energy and land-use limits. Several measures passed on recorded roll calls; some were set aside for further work.

Council approved a $69,394.32 change order and notice of completion for the Well 11 treatment facility, appointed an ad hoc committee to study potential November ballot measures, and authorized an updated sales and use tax audit agreement and a delegate to the regional housing trust.

County staff presented a prioritized 2026 work plan focused on general-plan updates, housing, Kimbell Junction I‑80 interchange design ($48.5M), solid-waste planning, lands conservation and public–private partnerships; council adopted the plan and compact after asking for added rail-trail language and better reporting cadence.
