Refueling/rehydrating and hitting it hard at the end of this morning’s 9.5-mile paddle. #howihammer #outriggercanoe #sunrise #indianriverlagoon

Nice to celebrate the Winter Solstice (in tank top and shorts) with a wonderful 13.5-mile paddle.

I put in some miles this morning. Mixed conditions: headwind, flat water, and a little tailwind (with small bumps) coming back across the Indian River.

Steady 12.5 miles on the water this morning. And somehow, I feel like the rest of the day should be a “rest day.” 🤣

A perfect morning for my 30-second intervals (x 20 with 2:30 recovery) and a little extra steady paddling. Bonus: a beautiful sunrise sky 😊

It’s not often that our “paths” cross, but this morning Jules was coming down the Eau Gallie Causeway bridge on her run while I was heading under to the north. Yes, she is the little figure you see when you zoom in 😉

A brisk 48 degrees when I pulled into the park to launch for this morning’s interval workout. A beautiful sunrise, but I didn’t feel as sharp or focused as I’d like for this type of workout 🤔
