Early morning stroll up Great Asby Scar in the #WestmorlandDales. It feels like Autumn has arrived with wonderful mists in the valley. About 1 hour later it had clouded over.

#photography #Yorkshire I took a photo at sunset and couldn't balance the exposure in post, whilst messing around with Camera Raw Filter, i realized that by dramatically bumping Curves up and down, i could isolate only the sun *and* lift the remaining light hitting the bottom of the clouds.

A traverse of Mallerstang Edge is seriously underated. Without the drama of other fells, but you can see so much from up there. The 3 peaks, wild boar fell, howgills, n lakes, eden valley, upper swaledale, gt shunner fell. The width of the vista is outstanding. And you may not see another soul.

A coolish(hurrah) and cloudy day with an odd shower on a trip up on to Loadpot Hill and #HighStreet ,returning via Arthur's Pike. Dogs are knackered and snoring now.

♥️💚 Orton and the Westmorland Dales, beautiful quiet country, limestone country with a Howgills backdrop, worthy of exploration, uniquely archetypal Westmorland scenery 👌

Great to be back in @blacknorereview.bsky.social with this #poem inspired by the Howgills.

I remember going to The Howgills once and someone on the ride was far too hungover to ride 🤣

Following last week's post that I'd seen walkers in The Howgills wearing brolly contraptions on their heads🤣and finding out they were real(loads on Amazon) I invested in one. @brendar.bsky.social asked for review👇
Ideal if you want to look even more gormless than usual
Cheap way to self garrot👍

Middle of the day on the howgills. Mind you, he was wearing boots and a hat so technically?

It was you I saw in the Howgills with the brolly hat, wasn't it 🤔👀

Once upon a time, in the Howgills, I came across a couple walking on a sun drenched day, with sort of mini umbrella attachments on their hats. A first for me, I'd all on to stop laughing😬🤣😂😅

Yeah, can see why fairer genders walk away from that talking about feminine spirituality or w/e. As monumental as you can get virtually anywhere. Howgills, Lakeland fells and Pennines all in view. I was beaming and I was emotional!

Thank you Andy. You should try the Howgills! Narry a stile in sight, not even to get on to them!

Really not the day to be sat in front of a screen working, but still appreciate the good fortune of being able to take a walk round before work on a perfect spring day.
