A friend of Queen Victoria who came to lunch. All the locals were given the day off such was the honour. The ‘Spare Chair’ was used to parade successful appointees to Parliament. This one, made for Disraeli in 1832 was not used because he wasn’t elected! #littleadventures24 @hughendenmanor
