Finally pulled all Huldra House titles off D2D (turns out there's a mass delisting option). And between genAI slop uploads/discoverability news out of Itchio, and watching evergreen cycles of abusive publishing play out, this time with Atthis Arts, it's hard not to feel depressed about the field. ->

Que se lo digan a las sacerdotisas de Huldra.

Porque sí, el odia los prostíbulos, así que va a los templos de Huldra, que están más limpios y salen "gratis".

O mejor dicho iba cuándo estaba soltero.

BTW! The creatures on the nightvision cam are based on Huldra! They're scandinavian folklore creatures, which come in a variety of shapes an sizes depending on the region.
As always, here's the art without all those pesky TTRPG rules, if you're just here for the pretty pictures! :3

(Which is super awesome and cool of you btw!)

But there's a rich folklore of monstrous women hanging out in the wilderness and seducing/eating men - huldra, gumiho, etc.

It's fun to imagine vampire women turning into trolls, looking less and less human as they get old, protectors in the darkness for their small, attractive husbands.

-Brotherly Spat (God of War): Kratos dislikes hearing about the endless feud between the Huldra brothers, Brok and Sindri. Even moreso when he's drawn into it himself.

Even moreso when it takes the form of a diabolical paddling machine.

A hulder (or huldra) is a forest fairy in Scandinavian folklore who seduces people traveling through her woods. Once in her embrace, a man will discover the hulder has some inhuman feature, such as an animal's hairy legs and tail or a hollow back (like some old tree).

Happy halloween, nerds! :3

I've been working on some art for the cryptid class to go with the spooky season!

(I meant to have Jackie's backstory ready too- but ADHD's been kicking my ass, so that'll have to be a blank for a little while longer!)

Have a good one! 💜

The Huldra myths further to the north and east of scandinavia are often characterized by having holes on their backs that resemble a knot of wood. Buuut I took in a slightly gorier direction, by taking some inspiration from slavic Mavka who also have holes in their backs... (albeit, gorier ones.)

— Yo una vez estuve en una orgía, en un templo de Huldra, había venido a expulsar unos espectros, y la interrumpí.

As Huldra is, among others, a patron of lust and fertility, petitioners often ask her priestesses for tips on how to seduce a crush, obtain lovage or medication used to treat erectile dysfunction, or expand their knowledge in the arcana of love. (+)

The Sisters of Sun and Moon trilogy covers look so nice together. But won't be revealing those, beyond the first (already up on the website), for a while yet.

Kind of weird having most of the next couple years of Huldra House cover art sorted already. Nice, but weird.

In an 1833 Norwegian legend, a young man recognizes a beautiful stranger by the tail she has hidden beneath her clothes. He keeps her secret and is rewarded.

The Huldra: The Beautiful Stranger in the Norwegian Forest — Nordic Prairie Life
The Norwegian huldra appears with a cow’s tail, hidden cattle and dangerous charm in nineteenth-century folklore collected by Faye and Asbjørnsen.

As well as used as icons of prestige in that those who have a Huldra male husband end up being raised in societal status.

So how does this translate to trans stuff? Well it does create a gender dysmorphia/envy, either for the freedom the female form presents, not belonging and so on.
November 2, 2026 at 7:29 PM
There is a race, Huldra, that has a skewed split between genders, roughly 75% female to 25% male. This has caused a number of internal problems, especially since males are treated as a precious commodity in terms of both race preservation though they can mate with any other sentient/intelligent race

So much work to do, and I just want to make promo images because pretty book cover art. :/

Perhaps this would also remind me to, you know, be more consistent about doing promo...

New Hulderotica covers (41-44) up on the site is *part* of what prompted this:
