I didn't have to look. I already knew it was for Grape-kun, the realest penguin I've ever known.

Grape 2049 | by Tyrone on #pixiv www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/...
A drawn parody of the "You Look Lonely" scene from Blade Runner 2049. Hululu, the Humboldt Penguin from Kemono Friends and Grape-kun, a real-life male Humboldt Penguin who lived in Tobu Zoo in Japan, have replaced Joi and K, respectively. Grape-kun obtained Internet fame in 2017 for his interactions with a cardboard cutout of Kemono Friends' Hululu the Humboldt Penguin character placed in his enclosure as part of a promotional event, prompting many to consider Grape-kun an old friend of hers, a secret admirer, or as being hopelessly in love with her while being stuck in the third dimension, the latter leading many animanga fans to sympathize with the penguin.

over the ice and far away,
hululu-chan waits for me.
far from the lowlands and blue seas,
back in her arms is where I'll be

AND it was new art done by the official artist who did the original art 😭 hululu is smiling and looking at grape-kun, who is also smiling
Original cardboard cutout of Hululu/Humboldt Penguin from Kemono Friends, using official art from the series. After Grape-kun's death, a new cardboard cutout with both Hululu and Grape-kun happy together was placed in the penguin's enclosure. This was new art from the same official artist as the original.

Just as Jewel beetles succumb to stubbies

Just as Grape-kun succumbed to Hululu

Just as humans succumb to cults

So too, this.

My favourite Grape-Kun X Hululu artwork honestly, made this for a school project.

I need to draw more of them someday.
