Polls have closed in Hungary's general election.

RTL, the main commercial broadcaster, predicts that TISZA will win 135 seats, with FIDESZ reduced to 63.

If that's borne out in the results, Viktor Orbán's time in power is about to come to an end.

We're in the final hour of voting in Hungary's general election.

Turnout is already 5 percentage points above that in 2022, and is set to be the highest since it lost its Soviet influence. This suggests that Hungarians truly do see this as a pivotal election.

TISZA is ahead in the constituencies while FIDESZ is ahead in list seats.
