#HurricaneKatrina's impact on #NewOrleans revealed that natural disasters don’t impact everyone equally.

🏚️ Predominantly Black neighborhoods were hit the hardest.
📈 Housing costs, displacement and homelessness soared.
❤️‍🩹 Recovery programs left too many behind.

Disaster protection requires investment and planning.

Yet, as #HurricaneKatrina’s 20th anniversary nears, #FEMA’s future is uncertain. To save lives, we need to upgrade flood systems and build climate readiness.
