We’ve got an official diagnosis today and it’s something very treatable and potentially curable so if anyone has experience and advice with managing kitty hyperthyroidism I’d love to hear it!
Apparently in the last 20 years there’s been a big increase in cat hyperthyroidism and they don’t know why.

I almost fainted today when the doctor told me there was a possibility my cat way fatally ill. But then he decided the cat isn’t fatally ill. So I almost fainted for no reason.

Smoke was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism but is otherwise healthy! She’ll just start medication. Smoke forever!!
please send good vibes to our little Smoker Smokeshow at the vet today… she’s been having some bathroom issues and she’s 13… we love our sweet little old lady so much

Update on Felix, she is home and everything went as well as it could have 😢 her hyperthyroidism should be cured!! Now she just has to be quarantined for two weeks because she is radioactive now....

Well it’s hyperthyroidism.
Orson was losing a lot of weight/not acting like himself, we got worried, took him to the vet, and it turns out he has a benign thyroid adenoma, which is causing hyperthyroidism. It's apparently super common in older cats, and with medication, he should be able to live normally for many more years.

Savannah DeMelo was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and Graves’ disease last fall. She was gracious enough to speak to me about it, how it affected her, and how it was related to her on-field medical event earlier this season when she went to the hospital. She says she's in a better place now. #NWSL
