Perks of teaching intro plant biology, my office now is packed with a variety of plants! Please appreciate my Selaginella terrarium muhahahaha #ib103 #plantjoy #iamabotanist

This spring I took over and redesigned the only Gen Ed on plants here #IB103. We walked through every core aspect of plant bio in lectures & labs, but also through art & design. I had a blast, the evaluations are rewarding (4.9/5), the redesign got an award from the college, and a little press too!

Asked my Intro Plant Bio students to make Valentine's day plant meme using what they learned in class so far, and dang, it gives me SO MUCH joy seeing all the submissions.

Successfully inserted anime in my plant bio lecture! 💅 Throwback to the good old time that I transcribed subtitles for many anime for two years at the end of my undergrad, now I'm telling a room of undergrads the plants and anime that I love. I love my job! #ib103 #anime #plantjoy
