The current CEO of Identity Digital (formerly Donuts Inc) named Akram Atallah, used to be the president of ICANN's global domain division, the fox that "own" and "run" the internet. Under his leadership, ICANN introduced the new generic Top Level Domain program, or new gLD, giving the creation of a new domain ending (.shop, brand, gmbh) a price tag of 200k USD. Interestingly enough, the one business that jumped on this newly and artificially created market of top level domains, was Donuts Inc., whom Akram Atallah then became CEO of. Today, they control ~37.1% of all new top level domains, as they created hundreds of shell companies to bypass limitations. I have a list of all shell companies, public records proving they all tie back to him and Donuts Inc., and he's proudly bragging about having done this on Linkedin so it's not really a conspiracy but known corruption.

Are billing panels still rejecting valid new TLDs in 2026?
ICANN’s new Universal Acceptance guidelines reminded me of an old hosting problem. Some billing and signup systems used to reject valid longer TLDs because their checks were built around short extensions like .com or .org. This is not at all what is happening here. The concerned second-level domain names reserved by the registry directly, just like for .co.uk or .gouv.fr for example. It's totally ICANN's problem and they never should have let VeriShit do that.
