Sean McNamara has stepped down from his position as president of the Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers' Association (ICSA)
With the EU struggling to cover expenses, a cut in farm subsidies of around 22% is being mooted. So richer farmers are proposing a *10-fold* increase in the minimum qualifying stocking rate, to ensure they themselves go unaffected.
