IDAEA: I don’t see what state of matter you are has to do with this. And I don’t recall supporting the Sun Station’s construction, but here we are.

IDAEA: Pye, you know I don’t find that funny.

AVENS: An update: Mallow and I will join you and Daz. Privet left to visit her brother. She fears Idaea may feel responsible.

PYE: How curious; Ramie thinks I’m a gas. And I don’t recall requesting that you monitor this conversation, Idaea.

I am really happy I got the opportunity to attend #Dioxin2026 in Riva del Garda with my colleagues from IDAEA-CSIC!

This week was filled with a lot of inspiring discussions and presentations and it was very nice to catch up with old colleagues.

PYE: Poke, I’m deeply honored. Idaea, I comprehend your position; however, if we aren’t all but certain the Sun Station will not cause destruction once we’ve built it, then I won’t support the station’s use.

It seems a little dark to me, but iNaturalist identifies this as a small dusty wave (Idaea seriata). #moth

The only visible non-human is Froggy. Met when putting my rucksack on the ground. I disturbed his earth restaurant serving mosquitos. Can you find the birds in two pics? And the den- is actually bigger. the dug out sand has a big lip at the top. About 45cm high. #Sápmi #Vacciniumvitis-idaea #luonto

Today, to round off our few days in the mountains, West Tatry, Slovakia, we picked lingonberries (Vaccinium vitis-idaea), which grow here alongside blueberries (Vaccinium myrtillus). The blueberries are sweet, whilst the red lingonberries are rather tart […]

At last, it’s time for lingon (Vaccinium vitis-idaea), often called ‘lingonberries’ in English, though strictly speaking the correct name is the rather less inspiring ‘cowberry’. Also known as “the red gold of the forest”. The last of the Swedish forest berries to ripen.

YARROW: Pye... I hurt for you, my friends; we all know how hard you’ve both worked. I can only offer my compassion. How are you? How is Idaea?
September 4, 2026 at 11:23 AM
IDAEA: The potential annihilation of an entire star system is too severe a cost. We shouldn’t build the Sun Station, no matter how badly we want the knowledge that comes with it.

Lowbush cranberries, aka lingonberries (Vaccinium vitis-idaea in the Ericaceae/heather family) grow all over Alaska & the Yukon. Smaller than our Thanksgiving cranberry, this fruit has long been important to indigenous peoples. Bears love them too. #foraging #photography #wildediblefruit #alaska

These berries refuse to fall from the plant, even through harsh winters.

Lingonberries stay bright red on the plant through winter and were a crucial food source for subarctic peoples.
