learning about web accessibility is like learning you do in fact still need to support an even darker, even more twisted IE6, and actually there's like three of them

we had a party the day we no longer had to support IE6 (which was many years later than you'd expect - most of our customers were institutions like banks, etc., who had internal systems running ONLY on ie6 for SO LONG)
