The International Flipper Pinball Association, which governs ranked pinball play, just sent this email about trans inclusion and my friends this is how you do it. I'm proud to play IFPA.

I gave the IFPA my view of the trans-exclusionary OBX pinball tournament. I reject the notion that it's the responsibility of trans people to compromise with transphobia, and also reject that it's just a "women's issue".

Today an IFPA staff member claimed they had absolutely no power within the IFPA to enact any meaningful change.
This sounds ridiculous because it IS ridiculous.
The IFPA doesn't fuckin care and competitive pinball is going to die under their care.
We can only hope an alternative springs up soon.

Today an IFPA staff member claimed they had absolutely no power within the IFPA to enact any meaningful change.
This sounds ridiculous because it IS ridiculous.

Re-reading the IFPA slack logs from the OBX incident just reminds me that literally nothing has been resolved and the IFPA continues to just "hope the community forgets"

But, due to the news cycle, I wasn’t able to start researching this until December, a month after the incident. By that point the entire IFPA Women’s Advisory Board had resigned and tournament directors across Oregon were pulling their tournaments from the IFPA.
