The company's sales revenue for the first six months increased to 5.30 trillion rubles, compared to 4.99 trillion rubles for the same period last year. Revenue also increased in the second quarter, reaching 2.50 trillion rubles, compared to 2.18 trillion rubles year-on-year. The report also discloses the parameters of the investment program. Total investment volume for 2026 is planned at 2.698 trillion rubles. The group's capital expenditures in the second quarter of 2026 amounted to 429 billion rubles, compared to 555 billion rubles for April–June 2025.

This is 2.4% lower than the same figure a year earlier, according to its financial statements . The group's revenue for January-June decreased by 23% to 117.35 billion rubles. Adjusted EBITDA was negative at 6.053 billion rubles, compared to a positive figure of 5.69 billion rubles a year ago. EBITDA margin was -5%, compared to a positive 4% in the first half of 2025. The company's financial expenses decreased by 1.9% to 26.3 billion rubles, largely due to the Central Bank's rate cut. "Since the middle of the second quarter, the Russian coal market has also begun to recover, supported by both rising external prices and a seasonal strengthening in demand for steel. This has enabled an increase in overall coal production and shipments of the most profitable products," the group's press release stated. Mechel is a vertically integrated mining and metals company. It comprises over 200 enterprises, including producers of coal, iron ore, steel, rolled products, ferroalloys, and thermal and electric power.
