The ABC and SBS have refused to adopt the controversial IHRA definition of antisemitism.
We have long argued that IHRA and related definitions have a history of chilling speech in defense of Palestinian human rights and are counterproductive to the fight against antisemitism.

This is an IHRA violation: Holocaust Studies Scholar Dr. Marianne Hirsch cannot do her research under the IHRA definition.

I really think it’s important that people read the text of this bill. Calling it an IHRA bill and implying that it’s codifying it is false. Look at the language of the bill for yourself - seriously.
That is a red line for me and I would NEVER vote for codifying IHRA.

Fun fact: Jewish members of the US House were more likely to vote NO on codifying the IHRA definition of antisemitism (and thereby attempting to criminalize protests against Israel) than the average House member.
