Two previous rounds of discussions with Ash, who was called by Secretary of Health George, failed after the government refused to accept any conciliation offer and Ashas remained adamant at their requirements.

Bharat Bandh Today Live Updates: From Bengal To Kerala, Bharat Bandh Paralyses States Amid Nationwide Protests
Bharat Bandh Today, July 9, 2025: India is witnessing a nationwide protest on Wednesday as 10 major trade unions rally against the central government's labour and economic policies. Prominent unions such as INTUC, AITUC, CITU, and SEWA have joined forces to press for 17 long-pending demands they claim the government has consistently ignored. Police in West Bengal's Howrah resorted to lathicharge on Wednesday after workers from Left-backed organisations clashed with security forces while attempting to enforce the Bharat Bandh, PTI reported. Elsewhere in the state, strike supporters disrupted rail services at Diamond Harbour and Shyamnagar, and attempted road blockades in Jalpaiguri, Asansol and Bankura. In Siliguri, shops remained shut and roads were deserted amid heavy police presence. In Odisha’s Bhubaneswar, members of the Khordha District unit of CITU blocked the national highway, ANI reported. In Tamil Nadu, Kerala-bound buses were halted in Coimbatore, leaving the Ukkadam bus stand nearly empty. However, normal bus services continued in Chennai despite the bandh call. Authorities across states deployed additional security forces and implemented transport arrangements to ensure public safety and maintain law and order. Police were stationed at key points to prevent disruptions and keep roads accessible. **Bharat Bandh Today LIVE: Trade Unions Supporting the Strike** 1.
