If you need something of minivan size (ie seats at least 6) right now your options are basically Hyundai Ioniq9 or the Kia EV9. Subaru and Toyota have delayed their 3 row EV-SUVs. I was car shopping this summer and those were our options so we got the impractical VW idBuzz instead (and love it).

Ioniq 9 #carspotter action. Happened to be at Korean school pickup. Feel like the EV9 and Ioniq9 are getting younger Korean Americans to actually consider and buy the native land brands!

I’m headed to the beach this weekend so I’m doing a mileage loop on the Hyundai IONIQ9. Needed to top it off this afternoon and this is how I had to park it at a Tesla Supercharger 🙃

Test drove the Hyundai Ioniq9 and it's really nice, doesn't feel all that different than the Santa Fe I've had for 12 years, but the hatch area is weirdly shorter in height because of the aerodynamics, and it might not pass the wheelchair fit test, so we'll have to take C's chair back and try it.

I have a hyundai tucson hybrid. Love it. My neighbor got the ioniq9 and she is crazy about it. Wife has an ev. She loves it too.

Toyota's in an odd pickle. They *really* do not want people, especially their customer base, buying EVs. But the entire planet is rapidly transitioning so they can't afford to bleed highlander hybrid owners to EV9/IONIQ9's thus this. They're fine, don't move the ball froward...

I've been seriously looking at the 2026 EV9 and Ioniq9 to replace my ICE minivan. There are a few other EVs moving into that space as well.
I never, not ever, not for a second, considered buying a Tesla.
