IIRC, in the Look to the West timeline, the term "phlogiston" ended up attached to what we know IOTL as carbon dioxide, which is probably even closer.
My own impression is that, relative to OTL physics, oxygen : phlogiston :: electrons : electron holes

I think 1976 Democratic primary still looks similar - Humphrey leads in polling, wrecks a lot of traditional establishment candidates through his ambivalence on running, and you end up with an insurgent candidate winning if he decides against it or can't convince Mondale as he did IoTL

I think last time this conversation came up I made the point to yourself (or it may have been someone else) that Hitler wasn't even inevitable even IoTL - he came within a few seats of being locked out and at the mercy of German tax authorities

That is now depreciated IOTL - but within the Dracosphere canon, it is later used to refer to the 19th planet of the Sol system, Marduk.

Moscow was a hilariously minor player early on; IOTL it wasn't even *independent* until sometime after the Mongol conquest, wasn't particularly major for half a century after that, and then stayed up by playing well with the Mongol overlords (while very slowly expanding, sometimes by land purchase).
