This afternoon, I was in Tama County hearing from folks on rural hospital closures, protecting IPERS, and turning down the political temperature on public education. It was a great conversation and I’m thankful for everyone coming out to make their voices heard.

According to Kim Reynolds' DOGE taskforce, IPERS is a "liability" for our state. This is a backwards way of thinking. To these people, any negative number in the budget is a bad thing. Governor , investing in our educators and our children is NOT a liability. #IPERS

IPERS is a promise. One that we've kept for decades. It's strong, well-funded, and a critical tool for worker recruitment and retention. Messing with IPERS in any way would be a tremendous mistake.
