The "microbes and social equity" session at #ISME19 went so well!! I was honored to open the session with my story of #MicrobesAndSocialEquity working group, and to co-chair the amazing talks on how researchers and educators are combining microbiology with social science and community development.

ISME attendees! As a late add to the #isme19 Protists session, i'll be talking about our work sequencing microbes from the Great Barrier Reef. Using Nanopore sequencing, we can consistently recover circular MAGs from prokaryotes (e.g. Pelagibacter), HQ viruses, & complete T2T euk genomes.
