My drafts are a sea of boring stuff, things that get a little personal, and mildly hotter takes than normal.

IMAX isn’t one uniform experience: The Odyssey was shot entirely on IMAX 70mm film, while some films are simply shown in an IMAX auditorium.

This morning I checked on the local IMAX screening of the VistaVision-shot DIGGER tonight, and there were three tickets sold for the 6:20 p.m. screening (compared to the Odyssey, which sold out weeks in advance). When I decided I would finally go just now, IMAX screenings have been cancelled.

The IMAX tickets sold out in literal seconds. Like I was on that shit as soon as they went up and the website froze and then they were gone

Co-sign 100%. It may claw its way back to cult classic some day but folks should seize the day to see it in IMAX which won't last long. Real talk: it's a better use of the Large Format process than the Odyssey or Oppenheimer.

Funnily enough, seeing Interstellar in 70mm IMAX was the first time seeing anything in that format for me. Love this for you lmao

“You gotta watch Nolan in IMAX. Nolan is meant for 70mm. The sound is key you need good speakers.”
Fuck you.
Interstellar. First watch. In flight entertainment system of the Korean Air flight I was just on. Old apple wired headphones I had to plug in just right to get audio output in both ears.

Yup. Ive heard about exclusive trailers shown only on Imax. That's bearable. But this?
The closest we've had in the past was the film Clue, but at least they were open about it. Here, there was nothing more than "we've new must see scenes!"
Next, are they doing 2 tier film releases?

I know you're not reviewing MCU at the mo, but are you aware of this? Went to see Encore, and saw 3 new scenes. Later found out there were FOUR. Turns out you could only see TVA scene if you saw it in Imax; no warning. Hate that this happened; hope this is not a trend.
