Yep, they’re foundational in our public institutions and they’re the why CorrectionsNZ, PoliceNZ, Oranga Tamariki, ImmigrationNZ and in fact most govt institutions operate the way they do. Decades of evidence is available but nothing changes because those beliefs are embedded.

Worst: Charles De Gaulle 2003, trying to get to my departure gate & having to dodge a gate at the end of my train trip there. Arrived two minutes too late for check in 😑
