Where will the SCOTUS majority get its imprimatur? Will there be a skunk works Opus Dei, funded by Leo?

and that, my fellow academics, is one reason not to hire war criminals: so they can't show up years post (their) war arguing in favor of the scaffolding behind their own atrocities with the imprimatur and status of your university
On the other hand, John Yoo, a professor of law at the University of California at Berkeley and former Justice Department official during the George W. Bush administration, says the consolidation of power in a strong executive is a return to previous norms.

Also: Even in the context of 9/11 and with the imprimatur of the 2001 AUMF, lethal strikes were authorized only for “senior operational members” of al Qaeda and associated forces
This three-hops theory is especially insane. Even if you assume each person is connected to only 100 other people, there are 1m people within three hops of every suspected drug trafficker—and remember that even *known* drug traffickers aren’t legitimate targets. www.nytimes.com/2025/10/30/u...

The imprimatur has left an impression.

I have no patience for this temporizing. People are being summarily shipped off into slavery in central america under the imprimatur of the US government right now. Canada—Canada!—is putting itself on a war footing. We’ve been off the map and in uncharted territory for the last 250 miles.
Schumer: "If he defies the Supreme Court, then we are in uncharted territory ... our entire democracy is at risk. I believe that if Donald Trump should defy the courts, the public will rise up. Democrats will fight it in every single way ... autocrats only succeed if the public lets them."

So the billionaire gutting the government under the imprimatur of a meme coin is calling Social Security a Ponzi scheme?

This is absolutely not what Burgess declared, and it’s genuinely disturbing that this was published under the government’s imprimatur.

Exactly. Do not create an imprimatur for fascism.
Obeying in advance will not end the fascists’ demands. It will only motivate them to demand more.
"University Of Iowa Announces Plan to End ‘Social Justice’ Major, Close Gender and Women’s Studies Department" But GOP will not be satisfied with this. They are already pushing the Bible be taught and history be taught that is pro-GOP to indoctrinate students--just like Chinese Communist Party.

Barnett and Wurman are both liars trying to give the imprimatur of “scholarship” to an argument with *no* scholarly support in the record.

Biden didn’t “give Trump a precedent” in any meaningful sense because Trump doesn’t factor precedential legitimacy into his decision-making in the first place. Trump was never looking for the imprimatur of presidential history to sanction his actions.
So President Biden has pardoned his son Hunter - and given Trump a precedent that certainly won't be abused.

Reputation becomes hereditary: you get read because you were read before.

And it will be rented out. If a big name’s imprimatur is the only thing that makes a paper legible, that imprimatur acquires a price.

The fact that Barron Trump goes to NYU, and not, say, Hillsdale College or the University of Austin really says it all. These people desperately want the imprimatur of the elite institutions of higher education they claim to disdain.

Here’s an idea for Labour: take a vow to come off Elon Musk’s cesspool, rather than give it the imprimatur of respectability by playing out the Party’s internecine drama on it. Something we could all get behind.

This is critical. I asked Chris Murphy if Dems risk sending the message that they're okay w/Trump's lawbreaking provided they extend ACA subsidies.

His answer was striking: On the full year budget, Dems cannot give a bipartisan imprimatur to Trump's lawlessness. 7/

You’re not his competitor, you dumb fucks! You’re the legitimate imprimatur that gave him any influence in the first place!
Update: NY Times did not want to be scooped by Chris Rufo, chose to cut out the middle man.

SCOTUS agrees to PAUSE an injunction blocking Trump's mail-in ballots EO.

In a blistering dissent, Justice Jackson writes that Trump wanted SCOTUS's "imprimatur for its effort to foment chaos ahead of the November elections" — masked as a quibble over justiciability. buff.ly/xdAxeii

I can however see exactly how it translates into at very least e.g. many more fishermen getting murdered, now with the imprimatur of the world’s humanitarians, on the excuse that he’s doing it for democracy
