This Mythic item is **not always available at this location** , as it’s actually a special **Rift Anomaly**. This means you won’t see it in every match, and the chances of it appearing are a bit low since there are around seven different possible anomalies that can happen. There’s no way to know when or if this one will happen, so finding the Stick of Truth really **comes down to random chance and luck.** You’ll know it’s happening if you see a Rift Anomaly pop-up that’s called “Stick of Truth” and has a special stick icon alongside the message “The truth is upon us! Grab the Stick of Truth to control the storm!” So far, we’ve only seen it spawn at Cartmanland when this happens, but we’re still testing to see if it might have an additional possible locations, so we’ll provide an update here as we learn more. ## What Does Stick of Truth Do in Fortnite? The Stick of Truth can be used to **control the storm** , which means you can activate it to **control where the storm goes.** It’s **single-use** only, so as soon as you use it, you lose it. It’s quite a dangerous tool if you’re not the one wielding it, so watch out for a message letting you know the Stick of Truth has been claimed after the Rift Anomaly starts if you don’t manage to reach it first. Be ready to run fast to the new storm circle, as it’ll close in rapidly. This function scans the nearby area with a red grid and highlights all enemies within your radius with a red diamond. It’s not the primary use for this item, so unless you specifically look at the abilities it has, it’s easy to overlook. You need to **use the call players ability** to progress in this quest. The exact button you need to press for this function varies by platform, but it’s always displayed in the bottom left corner, slightly above your health bar, when you have this item equipped. You can’t interact with the main cake in the center, but the slices can be consumed for health or shields. Although most of the birthday cakes can be found at named POIs, some of them are slightly outside of them and situated at Landmarks or unnamed spots instead. Although this quest mentions dancing, any emote you have counts as long as you perform this action while fairly close to the cake. ## Eat Slices of Birthday Cake Found at Named Locations in Fortnite To finish the eat slices of birthday cake task, you must consume eight slices of birthday cake. All cakes have this number of slices sitting on plates around them, but your health or shields need to be less than full to eat them. The issue is that it’s a legendary item, so the spawn rate is extremely low. Unfortunately, there’s no easy way to guarantee you find this item, which is frustrating since you need it for a quest. The only thing you can do to increase your chances of finding Birthday Presents is loot constantly. Start by heading straight to a main POI from the battle bus, ideally one on the outskirts of the island, so you can avoid fights. Locations like Resistance Base, Outpost Enclave, Kappa Kappa Factory, Shogun’s Solitude, and First Order Base are great options. Look for a slightly golden glow, as all presents have it. If you spend the full round hunting for birthday presents, you should eventually come across at least one, although luck plays a large role in how easy or difficult they are to find. Out of three rounds I spent searching for them, I only came across one, but when I played again later, I found two in the same match, so it’s really up to chance. ## What do Birthday Presents drop in Fortnite? Birthday presents drop an array of random loot items, including a weapon, usually of higher rarity, some ammo, balloons, gold bars, and other miscellaneous items. For how tough they are to find, the items you get aren’t all that great, so outside of when quests require you to find them, birthday presents aren’t really worth searching for. Throwing gifts is easy enough, as this is how you open them, but finding three different presents is a fairly tricky task.
