Haven’t posted in a while, so something from my archive. This was my first oil painting—it’s small, less than 6” wide, and is of our baby Inari 💕🌈

しばらく投稿していなかったので、アーカイブから何か共有しようと思いました。 私が描いた最初の油絵です。小さく、幅は6インチ未満で、もちろん私たちのイナリちゃんです💗🐾🌈

A monochrome photo of Ponzu, a tabby cat, sitting on her person’s lap in front of a computer monitor, looking up at it. The computer wallpaper is a picture of a sleeping white cat, Inari, Ponzu’s sister. Inari heartbreakingly passed away from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy in 2024, but Ponzu still recognises her photos and her name. It’s sad, but also happy because Inari is still well loved and remembered. #PonzutheCat and #InaritheKitten

An action photo of a white cat reaching up to bat a tattered old white pom-pom. The toy consists of two pom-poms, one on either end of a piece of cotton ribbon. The cat’s paw is touching one side, the other side of the pom-pom is swaying in the background. (A bare foot is behind it, next to the cat, just at the far right side of the image). The cat, Inari, is looking directly at the camera. Her whiskers are just visible for a WhiskerWednesday photo ;)

A beautiful white cat sits on the carpet near a sliding glass door and gazes outward towards the sun and out of focus greenery. A light beam is shining in on her through the glass of the sliding door. The poem in English: At the window, I watch the birds She looks at the glowing rectangle The branches shake in the wind She looks at the glowing rectangle A frog! Another! They hop together She looks at the glowing rectangle The sheep on the hill graze in a patch of sun She looks at the glowing rectangle She sighs, casts the rectangle aside, says, “there’s so much going on in the world” I know, but how does she?
