June 2nd seems like a correct day to share Katherine's Queer SFF Bundle. If you liked Narnia but prefer to be out of the closet, if you're still mad that Poe and Finn never kissed, if you've recognized the biggest fantasy of all is that gender could be a binary, this is the bundle for you!

15) SFF is also one of the most interesting genres for exploring queerness and transness, as you are not beholden to our current day world, you can commentate on it, or speculate about what it could be, what WE could be, I say go for it.

That's honestly another aspect of the story and its context that people weirdly tend to miss.

There have always been female fans of sff (and black fans, queer fans, etc.) even though the field has long been dominated by straight white men of varying (and often inconsistent) ideological allegiance;

The fear of and gatekeeping to protect against feelings of irrelevance (the heart, I suspect, of the insistence on canon) only serves to obscure the fact that there is no singular core, and no excuse for holding onto a singular and exclusionary vision of SFF.
