There's this concept of the corporate veil, in which money can't move between the corporation and the incorporator without obeying all kinds of rules.
It'd be cool if we could "fix" capitalism with something similar. Legislate lobbyists and boondoggles into non-existence.

Even if this is technically legal, it’s a terrible look for the city.
$3 million dollars of Wilmington taxpayer money went to restoring a dilapidated old mansion on the outskirts of town, which the then-mayor lived next door to. Now he’s gonna be on board of the nonprofit that runs the place.
