🖤💛❤️This Indigenous Round, I've been reflecting on a simple truth. One day... every one of us will take our final breath.Between that moment and our first, we are given a lifetime.A chance to observe. To learn. To grow.To love. This short film is a reminder that we're all just passing through.May we leave this world having made a positive difference in the lives of others.Happy Indigenous Round. A Canberra sports live blog captured a busy Saturday of action across the capital, with all four football codes featured and a notable visit from former AFL star Aaron Davey. The ex-Melbourne Demons champion flew into Canberra on Friday morning and spent time with Tuggeranong Valley’s senior players as part of their Indigenous Round celebrations. His visit included participation in a smoking ceremony alongside Ngunnawal elder Uncle Billy T, highlighting the cultural significance of the event and the club’s recognition of Indigenous Round. Davey, renowned for his skillful left foot and creativity on the field, enjoyed a decorated AFL career with Melbourne, playing 178 games and kicking 174 goals. He was named the Demons’ best-and-fairest in 2009 and also represented Australia in International Rules football against Ireland. In addition, he featured in the Indigenous All Stars team, reflecting his strong connection to Indigenous football pathways and community initiatives. The article also notes his family link to Canberra-born NBA star Patty Mills, further underscoring his sporting pedigree. Beyond Davey’s appearance, the blog covered a packed day of sport across Canberra, with attention on rugby league, rugby union, AFL, and football fixtures. The focus on Indigenous Round added cultural depth to the sporting weekend, with clubs and communities across the ACT engaging in events that celebrate Indigenous contributions to Australian sport. The piece reflects both the on-field action and off-field significance of community engagement in Canberra’s sporting landscape.

For the fourth time, the Supercars grid will be a touch more colourful for the annual special occasion that is Indigenous Round.
