The Huayan school is the other native Chinese doctrinal system. Huayan is known for the doctrine of "interpenetration" (Sanskrit: yuganaddha),[166][167] based on the Avataṃsaka Sūtra (Flower Garland Sutra). Huayan holds that all phenomena (Sanskrit: dharmas) are deeply interconnected, mutually arising and that every phenomenon contains all other phenomena. Various metaphors and images are used to illustrate this idea. The first is known as Indra's net. The net is set with jewels which have the extraordinary property that they reflect all of the other jewels, while the reflections also contain every other reflection, ad infinitum. The second image is that of the world text. This image portrays the world as consisting of an enormous text which is as large as the universe itself. The words of the text are composed of the phenomena that make up the world. However, every atom of the world contains the whole text within it. It is the work of a Buddha to let out the text so that beings can be liberated from suffering.

Uriel is able to hunt rogue AGI well, sentient programs and digitally-birthed ‘beings’ with vast capabilities on the IndraNet, because he knows how they think. He is able to use his halfness to connect with them empathically, pairing cold logic with the inner passion of any being trying to LIVE.

Uriel Worshington (our 3rd main character) is the AGI-hunting cyborg detective tasked by METATRON and the World.Gov with hunting down Sariel, the latest AGI born on the IndraNet.

He is 208-year-old Catholic veteran, his body ripped in the last Corpo War and replaced by sense-enhancing chrome.
