Had a chat with @simonforstroud.bsky.social about #InfectedBloodInquiry - he is going to find the paymaster general today and ask questions, to get back to me.

Here we go again. #InfectedBloodInquiry

Sir Brian welcomed with the true affection he is held in. Starting with campaign and advocacy groups, describing the problems with the (lack of) compensation scheme and the working at (snails) pace.

Those demanding a national inquiry into grooming gangs are also demanding action, prosecutions & accountability NOW. Having a several-years-long inquiry is the best way to ensure that doesn't happen.

Heading to the #InfectedBloodInquiry to hear answers to some questions. One of which is where is my dad's compensation?

He asked me what happens to it if he dies before he gets it last week. He is 80. They know how much he would get, he knows what he wants to do, they have his evidence. Why wait?

Really excellent reply to Christine Lee's "reflection" on the Infected Blood Inquiry. It puts it much more professionally than I have been able to put to paper.

Really frustrating that the infected blood payments still haven’t been made. Perhaps we should be getting the Americans to pay the billion pound compensation as it was their infected blood and plasma that infected our families. #infectedbloodinquiry

Listening to the Chair of the #InfectedBloodInquiry - you can feel the anger towards successive governments and a defensive civil service.
