Last summer we received a bouquet from a vendor at the Farmer’s Market. I made ink from the flowers, a dip pen from the stalks and my daughter made a thank you note using the ink. #botanicalcolor #inkmaking #naturalcolor

Working on the inkmaking flashcards that were one of my Kickstarter rewards, and will also be a new product in my shop when ready. I hadn't been able to give them a thought till the book was done, and they're turning out to be quite cool!

Some Black Walnuts! I occasionally use these to make a lovely brown ink. I've also tried to eat them, but the taste is uh...one I haven't quite acquired yet

I don't think I ever shared this, but these were tests from ink I made from wild grape growing nearby! Inkmaking is really fun and not too difficult. I'd recommend everyone try it if you enjoy watercolors or pen and ink!

I don't think I ever shared this, but these were tests from ink I made from wild grape growing nearby! Inkmaking is really fun and not too difficult. I'd recommend everyone try it if you enjoy watercolors or pen and ink!

ppl have already responded w resources i like buuuut..... u can totally do quick n dirty inkmaking by mushing up plants with a mortar and pestle, covering in an inch of water, and simmering for a few hours until reduced ( n_n)b i love doing this w random nontoxic shit in my yard
