It's bird time!
#Birdtober starts off with Aerial insectivore.
I'm kind of amazed that I managed to get flight shots of all these birds. They may not be actively eating insects, but they do consume them!

It’s October so that means its time for DRAWING! I’m following a bird themed prompt list this year, and up first was “aerial insectivore”, so I drew a little vermillion flycatcher!

Hi #kleineKunstklasse and #birdwhisperer!
Over on Insta I‘ve found a #Birdtober Promptlist not focussing on single species, but on attributes describing the birds.

Maybe you would like to join?

I’m back! Gonna share some October art prompts I’m making as part of #BirdtoberClub2026 and #Witchtober2026 over on instagram. I’m combining prompts from both challenges. Get ready for some witchy #birds!

October 1 - todays prompts are Aerial Insectivore and Candle, so I drew a Common Nighthawk 💜

The Chimney Swift is a small, migratory aerial insectivore widely known for its cigar-like body shape and rapid, erratic flight. Swifts/swallows are among the hardest birds that I see often to actually photograph. To get one in focus is a challenge. Getting two is a miracle.🪶

Don't let the name fool you—the Greater False Vampire Bat is one of nature's most fascinating predators.Known scientifically as Megaderma lyra, this unique creature belongs to the family Megadermatidae. Despite its spooky name, it is a crucial nocturnal insectivore and carnivore that

Oh, so this is what all the AI will destroy us talk is about. Sending out Insectivore "to enslave the earthlings." It all makes sense now.

my new #oc, fergus the metridochoerus
fergus may be smaller than most, but the primal isles is no challenge for this insectivore!

i'm specifically an aardwolf mainly, the little insectivorous weirdos of the yeen family... i don't think the 'insectivore' part is as important as the nocturnal den-digger who may mate for life which is why swift fox kinda fits. Their markings/colourations don't fit my inner self-image though
