It is inevitable. Israel has paid up for this President and they’ll insist on getting their money’s worth. Besides this, however, the US can’t afford for the BRI and INSTC to be completed, because that would make China a continental power that is immune to US naval superiority.

Well, kinda. The objective is to balkanise Iran so that Israel has no possible competitors in the region, and also to prevent completion of the INSTC, which would create a continental trading bloc centred on China that is immune to US naval superiority. The rest is propaganda.
