<div class="field field-field-text"><p>The United States Central Command has said that as of 31 October, its forces have redirected 144 commercial vessels as part of its "ironclad" naval blockade against Iran. </p>
<p>In a post on X, Centcom said the vessels had been redirected “to ensure compliance” and the George Washington aircraft carrier was supporting enforcement of the blockade.</p>
<p>Today’s latest total is an increase from the 135 ships that earlier this month Centcom said had been turned around since the blockade of Iranian ports was announced in mid-July.</p>

Again: the NYT’s ironclad run when it comes to covering the U.S. government is that the GOP can play politics all the live-long day, but the second a Democrat does it, it’s a 5-byline scandal.
They are doing "drumbeat" coverage on Alaska. "Politician denies thing but we imply the denial is bullshit" is a classic way to keep a story in the news, absurd here since even if she knew, so what?:
