That would be Navajo, Yupik, Choctaw, Comanche, Shoshone, Iroquoian, and a hundred others.

“Ontario” isn’t some name Canada invented. The name comes from Native American/Indigenous people. It is traced to an Iroquois/Iroquoian word, commonly given as kanadario, meaning “sparkling water.” The name was being used for the lake centuries before Ontario even became a Canadian province.

During the early medieval period, the Point Peninsula peoples transitioned to a Three Sisters agricultural lifestyle in fortified communities.

This culture's grave goods, like silver pan pipes and conch shells from Mesoamerica, show that they were connected to the Hopewell trade networks

Haudenosaunee = the Six Nations & their people (known as "Iroquois" by colonizers but we try not to use that term anymore)

This is so ridiculous because Ontario is an Iroquoian word for “great lake”. The Canadian province was named after the lake, in the late 19th century!
You know Google Maps is going to go with this shit and rename it on the map just like they did with the Gulf of Mexico.
