Super weird how none of this stuff wound up in the Isaacson biography.
Elon Musk, Jeffrey Epstein and Woody Allen on a Carribean island at Christmastime?

this bizarre interview with musk’s inconsistent, unreliable father is arguably more illuminating than the entire Isaacson book
"Was he bullied?"

"No, that's another story that's not exactly true. Some boy's father had committed suicide and everyone knew, and Elon said to this boy 'your father was stupid.' Now, you shouldn't do that... so the boy waited until Elon wasn't looking and he pushed Elon down a flight of stairs"

pretty much everything that has come out about Elon Musk makes Walter Isaacson look like a really shitty biographer.

Walter Isaacson especially should be thrown in a dumpster
I know I keep saying this, but every center-left pundit who burnished Elon Musk's credentials should be sick with shame right now.

Walter Isaacson must be so proud
German AfD politicians met with militant neo-Nazis at a secret event in Switzerland in December. A German investigative reporter infilitrated the event and got photos of the attendees, which included violent neo-Nazi groups Junge Tat and Blood & Honour.

There's a story in the Walter Isaacson book about Musk playing poker. Musk just keeps going all-in repeatedly, losing a lot of hands and buying more chips. Eventually he wins. It was supposed to be a story about determination. Isaacson didn't seem to understand it as a story about infinite money.
he must be fun to play poker with

had to dip back into the Walter Isaacson biography of Elon Musk for some research, and holy shit has it aged like milk... it reads like it came out in 2018 rather than 2023, you can tell that Isaacson thinks every setback and heel turn moment is temporary, rather than establishing Musk's new pattern

Why was Walter Isaacson so tough on Steve Jobs and so easy on Elon Musk? Because Steve Jobs died before Isaacson’s book was published.

eat shit walter isaacson this is the real stuff
The Washington Post has called our book "riveting" and a "treasure trove" of detail:

"Perpetually thin-skinned... the version of Musk that sulks through the majority of 'Character Limit' offers a telling lesson in the cost of getting everything you want."

In “Character Limit,” New York Times reporters Kate Conger and Ryan Mac chronicle the rise and fall of the social media platform now known as X.

Walter Isaacson and Ron Howard owe me personal apologies
Walter Isaacson had the greatest story in American history. The richest man alive, maybe the greatest immigrant success story ever, systematically outed himself as a champion of Nazism while electing an insurrectionist who wants to end American democracy. Instead he gave Elon the da Vinci treatment.
While telling them not to be worried about what their German grandparents or great-grandparents did.

Because history doesn’t matter. Only genes matter.

Sound familiar?

holy shit, they even trotted out Walt Isaacson today to push the "Elon is getting back to business" narrative, this was a full court press

Every component of the view espoused by Isaacson is false.

Factually and historically false.

Provably false.

I thought Walter Isaacson had a great line about this on TV the other night: That line in the Declaration wasn't a fact, it was a mission statement
In Ken Burns' new documentary, "The American Revolution," the idea that colonists of all stripes took to heart Thomas Jefferson's declaration that, "All men are created equal," was revelatory.

It was a principle which the masses, then and now, deeply embraced. That's why American democracy works.

"It's a mission statement that we are all part of a social contract," says biographer Walter Isaacson of the Declaration of Independence and the focus of his new book. "We the people. That's what our government is based on. It's not based on the divine right of kings." #Velshi
Walter Isaacson: Gov’t is based on ‘We the People…it’s not based on the divine right of kings’
Historian Walter Isaacson says the second sentence of The Declaration of Independence is the greatest sentence ever written and explains why in his new book. “That sentence influences everything,” Isaacson tells Ali Velshi. ”Getting people to participate based on that simple mission statement, I think could bring the pendulum back so that we wouldn't be as fractured as we are now,” he said.
