is there a convoluted explanation for this. from what I understand wizardry & such has existed forever but isekai manga/anime used to draw on a more jrpg-ish aesthetic, even D&D-ish things like lodoss had like an amano-ness to them visually (ok this is just me liking old things again)
the thing that's so frustrating about modern isekai is that isekais used to kick so much ass
it used to be like, "Hitomi has been transported to Earth's SECRET SECOND MOON where there are beastmen and transforming steampunk robots" and now it's like "what if Wizardry was about fuckslaves"

After a relatively long string of expensive crises our accounts are nearly empty!
We've got 2 1/2 weeks until our train leaves to survive, and traveling on empty is never fun. Anything you can spare helps!

But then the mild-ish gender norm challenge, slight fruity-ness of 'pretty man' and his little hip tilt/knee kink helps a little

I actually did a rare thing and tried to get a story commission of this idea once. I won't link it because I wasn't suuuper fond of it and that's mean?
It's just... *Gestures helplessly* I'm not sure there's a writer out there who would lean into the tail-ish-ness as much as me, understand the FUN.

Just finished reading book one of the Chaos Walking series and sweet Black baby Jesus, it killed me. Dark, fast-moving, character‑driven dystopian sci‑fi(ish).⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Anyway, back to work for me.

anything with even a *whiff* of Persona-ish-ness, however vague, but which lets you be a girl and has queer people allowed to exist, is immediately My Thing
(and you can imagine the kind of Magica Riot game I'd love to make by reading that description 😅)
