A major incident in Southern California has triggered a wave of concern after a magnitude 6.4 earthquake rattled the region early Thursday morning, leading to power outages, structural damage, and multiple injuries. The quake struck at 2:43 a.m. local time with its epicenter near the small town of Isleton, approximately 50 miles northeast of San Francisco. Seismologists confirmed that this was one of the strongest earthquakes to hit the area in recent years.

This building is now the Tong (or Isleton) Museum in Isleton. Note the corrugated aluminum siding. Many old buildings and Isleton have that because it was the only way they could survive — it prevented them being set on fire by a-hole white people who wanted them out after they built the levees.

I had a lot of fun exploring Isleton for the Cameras and Coffee meet up this weekend!
