I've been using IsoBuster to see what I can recover from my old Hard Disk recorder. Apart from a couple of films, most of the first season The Quizeum and Charlie Brooker's Election Wipe from 2015, it's this madness:

We also had problems creating a manifest for this one because of an invalid filename, which could be causing an issue too?
So, it WILL load in a virtual machine on an older version of Windows. IsoBuster has no problems grabbing the data. Mixed results grabbing data with MagicISO

A lot of these are in classic Mac format which doesn't read in Windows, so you might need to use a program like Isobuster to extract the data (that's what I used for grabbing the files when we were converting these)

apparently the people doing these patches want me to rip with isobuster. which. fair enough, I suppose. I'm just surprised it doesn't seem to support bin/cue

Most of these are Mac-formatted CDs, so they won't read under Windows. I've been using IsoBuster to process these, since it can extract Mac-formatted data to Windows

This disc is funny.
I dumped it in 2016 with Isobuster.
Then I redumped it in 2022 with proper Redump-quality hardware and software and could not get a match.
I redumped it today using newer hardware and software... and it matched MY ORIGINAL 2016 DUMP.

For grabbing the files off the Mac-formattes discs, I've been using IsoBuster, which works great. The ScummVM team also made a free in-browser tool that rips files from HFS discs www.scummvm.org/dumper-compa...

IsoBuster is super robust for what we need (and is developed by one guy), so I've been happy to support! We try to use open-source or free tools when possible, but it really is the best for what we need. But whatever tool we use, the disc image would still be the same at the end

This has a lot of good options to play with. But I'll also use ddrescue, dvdisaster, isobuster, etc as needed, when perfection seemingly isn't an option. Also trying different drives can help. github.com/SabreTools/MPF
