The Italian town of Vittorio Veneto is celebrating 150 years of mass emigration to Brazil. Several events are planned, among them an exposition, conferences, and theatrical performances. Angelo Agostini (1843-1910) was an Italian-Brazilian artist and comic pioneer. He was born in Italy and came to Brazil at the age of 16. Agostini's works reflected the social and political reality of 19th century in Brazil and contributed to establish comics as an art form. #ItalyBrazil

Another historical figure of the Italian-Brazilian relations is Teresa Maria Cristina (1822-1889), Empress of Brazil and born in Naples. She married Emperor Pedro II in 1843 and became known for her charity work and her support of Italian immigration to Brazil. #ItalyBrazil
