When I first saw "Star Wars" (1977) I just thought those tatty-looking robes were trad desert garb that Ben Kenobi was wearing to blend into Tatooine. Imagine my disappointment when I found out that they were the Jedis' actual bloody uniform.
I believe Unidentified Jedi Knight #5 in the first shot (and #7 in the second shot) is the Jedi shown on page 175 of the Visual Encyclopedia. He's not named in the book but is shown to be practicing Form VI, Niman. Though he's wearing a robe in the book, he does have a tan tunic.
