Cambridge Elements do not get reviewed often (I guess the format is to blame) so I am even more chuffed to see Louise Blanke discussing Monasticism and the City in Late Antiquity and the Early Middle Ages for JMMS. Really honored by such kind words from a giant in our field!

Most people are not aware of what the spines on a Murex shell actually do. Most think of them as sort of thorns that prevent predators from grabbing the shell. Actually they form a cage that allow the species to crawl across the bottom and not get eaten. www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMMS... #MarineLife
